iPhone 18 colors for every model and which case matches

What is confirmed

Updated September 28, 2026. Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 9, 2026, in four colors: Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy. The back glass is now color-matched to the aluminum, so the two-tone back of the iPhone 17 Pro is gone. The foldable iPhone Duo comes in Star White and Night Sky. There is no standard iPhone 18 yet; that model and the iPhone 18e are expected in spring 2027.

This guide lists every iPhone 18 color Apple actually ships, model by model, and which case color works with each finish. It is written for buyers who care how the phone looks and how it stays private: executives, journalists and professionals who want a phone that blends in without giving up control of the camera and microphone. The iPhone 18 Pro privacy case comes in black, and as the pairing notes below show, that one case color works with all four Pro finishes.

iPhone 18 Pro Max colors

The iPhone 18 Pro Max shares its palette with the smaller Pro: Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy. There is no Pro Max exclusive shade this year. The 6.9-inch model combines an aluminum frame with a back glass panel in the same color as the metal. Because the color covers more surface on the larger phone, Burgundy reads bolder and Glacier reads calmer on the Pro Max than on the 6.3-inch Pro.

iPhone 18 Pro colors

The iPhone 18 Pro launches in the same four shades. Cosmic Orange, the signature color of the iPhone 17 Pro, did not return. Burgundy takes over as the statement finish, Glacier is the new light option next to Silver, and Black is back as the plain professional choice. Storage runs from 256 GB to 2 TB in every color.

  • Black, the neutral finish that hides fingerprints and wear
  • Silver, the classic light metal, strongest resale value
  • Glacier, a cool pale tone with a hint of blue
  • Burgundy, the deep red that replaces Cosmic Orange as the hero color

Black

Black is the most understated iPhone 18 Pro color and the one that shows the least wear over a two or three year cycle. Under office light the aluminum reads as deep graphite, and the matching back glass keeps the whole phone one tone. A black case on a black phone is the lowest-profile setup you can build: the frame edges disappear into the case and nothing about the phone draws attention.

Silver

Silver is the brightest Pro finish and the closest to bare metal. It looks clean in photos and holds its value well, though it shows smudges faster than the darker shades. A black case gives Silver a sharp contrast: the light frame shows as a thin bright line around the edge of the case, which keeps the phone recognizably Silver without exposing the back glass.

Glacier

Glacier is the new color in the lineup, a pale, cool tone between white and light blue, warmer than Silver indoors and noticeably bluer in daylight. It suits buyers who want a light phone without the mirror look of Silver. With a black case, Glacier shows at the frame edges as a soft light outline, a subtler contrast than Silver gives.

Burgundy

Burgundy is the color Apple leads its marketing with. It reads as a deep wine red in most light and shifts darker under direct sun. Because the back glass matches the aluminum, the whole back is one continuous burgundy rather than a red frame with a different red panel. In a black case, the burgundy frame shows as a thin colored edge, enough to identify the color on a table without making it loud. For lawyers, executives and consultants who want a considered rather than flashy phone, this is the shade to pick.

iPhone Duo colors

The iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable iPhone, comes in Star White and Night Sky. Star White is a warm off-white over a Grade 5 titanium frame; Night Sky is a near-black with a faint blue cast. The Duo has cameras on both sides and its FaceTime camera sits hidden under the 7.6-inch inner display, invisible until it is active. There is no Face ID; Touch ID lives in the side button. Spy-Fy does not make a case for the Duo, so its colors are listed here for completeness only.

The standard iPhone 18 colors are not known yet

Apple did not announce a standard iPhone 18 or an iPhone 18e at the September event. Both are expected in spring 2027, and Apple has not shown any colors for them. Based on recent base models, a lighter palette is likely, but that is a pattern, not an announcement. If you specifically want a pink or pastel iPhone 18, there is nothing to order yet. Our explainer on why Apple is splitting its iPhone launch in two covers the new release rhythm.

Why the color-matched back changes how a case looks

On the iPhone 17 Pro, the back was two-tone: an aluminum plate and a separate glass cutout in a different shade. On the iPhone 18 Pro, the back glass matches the frame, so the phone reads as one solid color from every angle. Once it is in a case, the only place the phone color remains visible is the frame edge around the screen, the buttons and the camera surround. That is why one black case works for all four finishes: the case sets the look of the back, and the phone color shows as a thin accent line around the edge.

The Spy-Fy case for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max is black, with a sliding cover over the front camera, a flip cover over the three rear cameras, a kickstand and a MagSafe magnet ring. Face ID works when the slider is open, the flashlight works when the rear cover is closed, and the case is rated for 2 meter drops.

Color is the easy decision on day one

New iPhones are most exposed in the first 48 hours, when owners restore backups, accept app permissions in bulk and connect to hotel Wi-Fi. The iPhone 18 Pro carries three 48 MP cameras and a doubled Neural Engine that processes more of what those cameras and microphones capture on the device itself. Our companion piece on what the iPhone 18 Pro sees and hears walks through that behavior in detail. The short version: review permissions one app at a time, and cover the cameras physically before the phone leaves the house.

The takeaway

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max come in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy, the iPhone Duo in Star White and Night Sky, and the standard iPhone 18 palette stays unknown until spring 2027. Whichever Pro finish you pick, the color-matched back means a case decides most of the look, and a black case pairs with all four. If you want that case to also close the camera and microphone gap that software cannot, the iPhone 18 Pro Max case with camera cover fits both the Pro and the Pro Max and ships in black to match every color Apple offers.
