What is a Privacy Passport Cover and why is it needed?
Since you will often be asked to hand over your passport, you better make sure you know it is securely shielded. Most importantly, your citizen service number and passport photos are (partially) taped. The Spy-Fy Privacy Passport Cover has been developed with protecting your identity at the core. The security label lets the user know if the passport has been removed from the case. The RFID protection that ensures the chips of your passport and cards cannot be read remotely. The QR code can be scanned with a smartphone and provides information about the passport cover in several languages. Secure copy of passport
The cover for the passport quite deliberately covers fraud-sensitive information, namely the BSN and passport photos partially. This information is not needed by hotels and rental companies, among others, and significantly reduce fraud with an unsecure copy passport. A secure copy passport is easily made with the unnecessary data on the passport shielded.
RFID passport cover?
The passport has a chip that can be read via RFID, even remotely. Using an RFID cover for the passport prevents unwanted reading of your passport data via the chip. At official institutions such as governments and customs, the passport is easily removed from the cover and all data can be read.
